On 26 August, Jesuit Social Services Australia and the Jesuit Conference of Asia Pacific (JCAP) co-hosted an Introduction to Ignatian Advocacy webinar, bringing together over 50 attendees from across Australia, the Asia-Pacific region, and beyond.
Julie Edwards, CEO of Jesuit Social Services and Secretary of Social Ministries for JCAP, offered valuable insights into the history, tradition, and enduring impact of Ignatian advocacy, grounding participants in our shared mission. She was joined by Daniela Alba, Advocacy Coordinator at the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat in Rome, who shared global perspectives from the Jesuits for Climate Justice campaign.
This opening session highlighted how our collective work—whether through direct community engagement or global strategic campaigns—remains firmly united by a commitment to social, ecological, and economic justice.
This session marked the beginning of a four-part JCAP webinar series designed to equip delegates, colleagues, and partners with actionable advocacy, communication, and campaigning tools. By building our collective capacity to amplify voices and construct powerful narratives, the series aims to foster cross-border collaboration and drive long-term ecological justice across our region.
